Section One: Rules of Behavior

If you follow common sense, and act with Honor and Maturity you won’t ever violate any of these.

1-001: Rules of Behavior apply at all times in all situations, unless otherwise noted. Appropriate offense level will be listed by every rule. These rules are subject to change, violations of these rules can lead to dismissal from the CO. If a member feels that they cannot follow these rules, then they are welcome to leave. These rules are intended to provide a mature playing environment for the members, and to keep the game fun and enjoyable. The primary rule at all times is to have fun, don’t take the game too seriously.

1-002: Respect: Members will respect all other members, whether they are superior in rank, equal in rank, or lower in rank; do not use foul or derogatory language towards your fellow members. Mutual respect is one of the tenets that the CO is founded on.

1-003: Disobeying Orders: A member shall follow all legal direct orders given. Orders that are given that do not follow the Chain of Command are not considered legal. Failure to follow orders can lead to demotion or expulsion from the CO.

1-004: Cheating/Exploits: Members will not use cheats or exploits while they are displaying the CO Tag. Cheating/Exploits includes the use of “Cheat Codes,” hacks, trainers, bots, or any other method deemed cheating or an exploit by Bioware or by Command. A member caught cheating while displaying the CO Tag will be subject to demotion or expulsion from the CO.

1-005: Members may not be in any other Clan/Guild on our selected server. If a member is found to be a part of more than one Clan/Guild, they can either leave the CO, or leave the other Clan/Guilds and remain in the CO and face possible Court-Martial.

1-006: While in public and displaying the CO Tag, members are expected to act with Honor, Dignity, Respect for other players, and Maturity. Your actions not only reflect on yourself, but it reflects on us as a whole and on the Sith. Violation can result in demotion, suspension, or expulsion.

1-007: Use the Chain of Command to resolve conflict/problems/issues with other members or the rules. Officers and leaders are here to help serve members. Please do not post grievances on public forums or in areas where the public can see, if a member has a severe problem with something that is going on in the CO, contact Command or their designee, they are here to serve.

1-008: Trolling, Spamming, or Flaming will not be tolerated on the CO Forums and any Star Wars The Old Republic Forum (including the official forums, and any fan or community run forum), at first a warning will be issued with deletion of offending material, if the problem continues, it can result in Court-Martial and/or revocation of posting rights.

1-009: Links to websites or images that contain cheats, vulgar material, pornography and other material that is deemed unsuitable by the CO Command or illegal by the State in which our website is hosted is forbidden.

1-010: Members will not use derogatory or slanderous language, nor will a member make comments about race, gender, religion, sexual preference, or creed. We will notify proper authorities if a member violates applicable laws, we will also notify Bioware if a member violates the Community Standards, End User License Agreement, or the SW:TOR Terms of Service as defined by Bioware or Lucas Arts.

1-011: Taunting of other players in a competitive/fun manner is allowed. However, do not harass other players.

1-012: Kill all members of the enemy when possible; if necessary gather support/reinforcements in order to kill the enemy. Do not assist members of the enemy; they are terrorists who only strive to bring Chaos and Death to the galaxy.

1-013: Assist all Sith civilians and allies. Neutrals are not considered to be a part of the Sith Empire and should be treated accordingly. Neutrals should also be considered as weak and cowards, unable to choose a side to fight and die for.

1-014: (If Uniform Clothing is made available) Uniforms are only required for specific Formal CO events, these events shall be announced as being Formal at least one week prior to the event. Uniforms shall be created and issued free of charge. If a member shows up to a Formal event without the proper uniform, they shall be asked to correct the problem.

1-015: Members shall not hack into other websites, if a member commits a “Cyber-Crime” or violate any laws of the United States of America in regards to the Internet; the appropriate authorities shall be notified, including Interpol and/or the FBI, and the member shall be removed from the CO.

1-016: If a member commits an act of Treason against the CO or the Sith, they shall face immediate Court Martial and expulsion from the CO. Treason is defined as aiding an enemy of the Sith, aiding an enemy of the CO, or attempting to disrupt the well-being/unity of the CO.

re: Section Two: Leadership and Elections

Section Two: Leadership and Elections

2-001: Electable Positions: The position of the Grand Lord shall be elected by the membership of the Crimson Order. As this position is the highest authority in the Crimson Order, it should be held by a member who has the confidence of the Crimson Order.

2-002: Nominations: Candidates for the position of the Grand Lord shall be nominated by another member of the Crimson Order. This nomination should be made on the Crimson Order Forums. The nominee will need to publicly accept the nomination. Nominations will be accepted for a period of one week, starting on the day that the Call for Nominees is announced.

2-003: Election: One week after the Nomination period is closed, an official poll will be created on the Crimson Order forums. This poll will remain open for two weeks or until a majority of the eligible vote has been reached, whichever is sooner. A majority of the eligible vote is if 50.1% of all existing members have voted for a single candidate. It is not 50.1% of the votes collected. At the end of the two week period, whoever has a 50.1% majority of votes collected will be elected as the Sith Lord.

2-004: Contingency in Case of Tie or no Majority: If 50.1% of the votes is not reached, then the candidates with the two highest vote counts will compete again in a new election following the same rules as in 2-003.

2-005: Impeachment: The Grand Lord can be impeached by a 3/4ths (75%) vote of eligible members. If a Grand Lord is impeached, he must immediately step down and a Call for Nomination will be issued. The former Grand Lord will then be subject to possible dismissal from the Crimson Order if deemed appropriate by the Kissai.

2-006: The Grand Lord: The Grand Lord is the official leader of the Crimson Order. The Grand Lord is responsible for appointing members of the Kissai Caste, developing and managing relationships with other guilds, providing vision and direction for the CO, and overseeing the senior leaders in both the Kissai Caste and the Massassi Caste.

2-007: The Kissai Caste: The Kissai Caste makes up the senior leadership and advisory council to the Grand Lord. Each Kissai will have a specific area of responsibility, and will report directly to the Sith Lord on the successes and failures in those areas.

2-008: Officers: Officer ranked individuals in the Crimson Order have additional responsibilities to ensure the success of the Crimson Order. Officers are typically the leaders of Companies and Platoons, and are responsible for assisting the members under their command. They may in some situations find themselves as the senior member online, and will need to act responsibly as such in times of conflict.

2-009: Chain of Command: The Chain of Command (COC) is a clearly defined listing of the top-down relationship of the leaders of the Crimson Order. It is used to determine who has command of military operations at any one given moment in time.
#1 The Grand Lord
#2 The Overlord
#3 The The General
#4 The Inquisitor
#5 The Senior Company Commanding Officer
#6 The next senior Company Commanding Officer (if more than one Company exists, the chain would descend through seniority as determined by the Sith Lord or General)
#7 The Senior Company Executive Officer
#8 The next senior Company Executive Officer (if more than one Company exists, the chain would descend through seniority as determined by the Sith Lord or General)
#9 The Senior Platoon Leader
#10 The next senior Platoon Leader (and will descend through seniority as determined by the Sith Lord or General)
#11 The senior Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) (Beginning with the Sergeant Major and working downward as appropriate)

re: Section Three: Recruitment Practices

Section Three: Recruitment Practices

3-001: The responsibility for overseeing and implementing recruitment practices and procedures falls to the Inquisitor of the Crimson Order. Recruitment is the first defining experience that a member will have in the Crimson Order; it is important that the process is distinctive and leaves a good impression on our new members. It is also key for any potential problems to be identified; membership in the Crimson Order is a privilege, not a right.

3-002: General Prerequisites of Membership: All potential applicants must be at least 16 years old. They must be a member of the Sith Empire or on the way to becoming a member. They must have no discernable background that might tarnish the image of the Crimson Order. They must also state a willingness to abide by the Rules and Regulations of the Crimson Order.

3-003: Recruitment Process: All applicants must do all of the following steps to obtain the rank of Recruit: Register an account on the Crimson Order forums; Post an “Application of Intent for Membership” on the Crimson Order’s forums; have a preliminary interview with a member of the Recruiting Team, have an interview with a member of the Kissai caste or with the Grand Lord. Upon a final decision, the member will be granted the status of Recruit.

3-004: The Application of Intent: The application must contain the applicant’s username on the SW TOR boards, the in game character’s name, any alternate accounts, contact information, character class, and a brief statement as to why they would be a good fit for the CO.

3-005: Initial Interview: The purpose of the initial interview is to ensure that there is nothing blatantly wrong with the candidate. The initial interview can either be conducted formally, or through interaction during an activity with other CO members.

3-006: Final Interview: The final interview will be conducted by a either a member of the Kissai or the Sith Lord. The final interview should be conducted in such a way as for the leader to get a good feel and impression of the applicant. The ability of the applicant to fill the CO’s needs as well as CO’s ability to satisfy the applicant’s needs should both be assessed.

3-007: Membership determination: Once both interviews have been conducted and a thorough review of the applicants Application, and SW:TOR board posting history has been conducted, the relevant leaders should discuss the findings. The discussion should come to a determination as to whether or not to extend a membership offer to the applicant.

3-008: Recruit Status: If the applicant accepts the membership offer, they obtain the rank of Recruit and will gain access to appropriate level forums and in-game privileges. The member will remain a recruit for two weeks

3-009: Official Induction into Membership: At the end of the two-week probationary period, or in some cases of exceptional service, before the end of the probation period, the member will become eligible for full membership and promotion. Poor performance or behavior may cause a recruit to be ineligible for full membership or may prolong the Probationary period. Once accepted as a full member, the new member must take the Oath of the Crimson Order during an Induction Ceremony that will be held as part of the Crimson Order’s periodic meeting (at least monthly).

3-010: The Oath of the Crimson Order: All members of the Crimson Order will be required to take the Oath before an assembly of the general membership. The Oath shall be recited as follows:
I am grey; I stand between the darkness and the light.
I protect order, from chaos.
I bring Peace through Victory. I obtain Victory through power.
I am a silent sentinel, the thin line that holds back the day,
I am ever watching, always persevering, sacrificing self to the Order.
I serve without question, my Lord, as he serves the Will of the Emperor.
I have been reborn into a brotherhood of blood.
I am the Crimson Order.

re: Section Four: Promotion Practices

0
Section Four: Promotion Practices

4-001: Promotions Defined: A promotion is the elevation of the rank of a member to a higher rank, and thus increased responsibilities. Promotions are usually given as recognition to members who have worked hard and sacrificed for the Crimson Order. They are also issued to members who have proven skills or leadership abilities. Please see Section Five: Organization for more information on ranks.

4-002: Promotion Categories: There are three major promotion categories, Officer promotions, Non-Commissioned Officer promotions, and Enlisted promotions. Promotions to Kissai are handled under Section Two: Leadership.

4-003: Officer Promotions: Officer positions in the Crimson Order are to be reserved for those who have clearly demonstrated leadership skills, dedication to the Order, and knowledge and expertise in their area of responsibility. An Enlisted or NCO member may be promoted to an Officer position that is either a unit leadership position, or to a staff position that has enhanced responsibilities deserving the elevated rank. Enlisted and NCO members will have to undergo special consideration before being elevated to the Officer Corps.

4-003.1: Officer Promotion Types: Promotions can either occur for open leadership positions, or by the recommendation of a Kissai caste for a member who has demonstrated enhanced skill but won’t be assuming a new role.

4-003.2: The Officer Promotion Board: An Officer Promotion Board will be convened at the will of the Grand Lord or appropriate Kissai caste member. The Promotion board will meet to weigh the merits of individuals who have either applied to or been recommended for an open position or rank elevation. The Officer Promotion Board should consist of at least one member of the Kissai caste, one member of Company command rank, one member of Platoon command rank, and one member who is a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer.

4-003.3: Officer Promotion Considerations: Candidates for promotion will be evaluated on their Merit, Seniority, and Leadership. Merit and Leadership will have a priority over Seniority. Seniority should be used as a form of tiebreaker, unless the candidates are extremely disparate in their service times. Past performance, and an evaluation by the candidate’s current leader should also be considered.

4-004: Non-Commissioned Officer Promotions: NCOs are typically new leaders and/or very senior members of the Crimson Order. They typically serve as the front line leaders, trainers, and helpers. NCO positions in the Crimson Order should be limited to members who have gained the trust of the Crimson Order and are demonstrating leadership skills, dedication to the Order, and knowledge and expertise in their area of responsibility. An Enlisted member may be promoted to an NCO position that is either a unit leadership position, or to a staff position under a specific Command or Kissai.

4-004.1: Non-Commissioned Officer Promotion Types: Promotions can either occur for open NCO leadership positions or staff positions, or by the recommendation of a Kissai caste for a member who has demonstrated enhanced skill but won’t be assuming a new role.

4-004.2: Non-Commissioned Officer Promotion Board: The NCO Promotion Board will function similarly to the Officer Promotion Board, however, it can be convened by the appropriate Kissai caste member or by the recommendation of a Company Commanding Officer. The Promotion Board will meet to weigh the merits of individuals who have either applied to or been recommended for an open position or rank elevation. The NCO Promotion Board should consist of at least one member of the Kissai caste, one member of Company command rank, one member of Platoon command rank, and one member who is a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer.

4-004.4: Non-Commissioned Officer Promotion Considerations: Candidates for promotion will be evaluated on their Merit, Seniority, and Leadership. Merit and Leadership will have a priority over Seniority. Seniority should be used as a form of tiebreaker, unless the candidates are extremely disparate in their service times. Past performance, and an evaluation by the candidate’s current leader should also be considered.

4-005: Enlisted Promotions: Enlisted promotions are granted to members who have demonstrated the values of the Crimson Order. Enlisted members are the backbone of the Crimson Order, and elevations in rank should be used to recognize and reinforce positive behavior.

4-005.1 Automatic Enlisted Promotions: Certain promotions will come up for consideration automatically once a member has served a certain amount of time as a member. These "automatic" promotions will need to be approved by the Enlisted member's Company Commanding Officer. Automatic promotion consideration will follow the below timeline:

E-5 - E-5 Rank is not eligible for automatic consideration
E-3 to E-4 - after Twelve months of Service as an E-3
E-2 to E-3 - after Six months of Service as an E-2
E-1 to E-2 - after Three months of Service as an E-1

4-005.2 Granted Enlisted Promotions: Enlisted promotions will typically be granted as the result of the decision of a single individual and not as the result of a promotion board. Platoon leaders and NCOs can recommend to their Company Command that a member be promoted.

4-005.3 Authority to Grant Enlisted Promotions: Enlisted promotions can be granted at the discretion any leader at the Company Command (Commanding Officer or Executive Officer) or higher (Kissai or Sith Lord) level. Company Command members must have direct oversight over the enlisted member receiving the promotion.

4-005.4 Enlisted Promotion Considerations: Enlisted promotions should be given as a reward to members who embody the core values and tenets of the Crimson Order. Merit is a prime factor, however, Seniority and Leadership skills should also be considered. Promotions should not be given to a member who has received disciplinary action within the last Six months.

4-006: Officer Training: In certain situations, the Sith Lord and Kissai caste may decide to hold Officer Training sessions in order to develop and foster leadership skills among the members. Candidates to Officer Training sessions will not receive a promotion until a Promotion board has made their final decision. However, participation in these sessions should be viewed as a positive factor in evaluating the candidate for promotion. Officer Training may also be a requirement imposed by the Promotion board as a prerequisite for the candidate before giving a final promotion decision.

4-007: Kissai Promotion Veto: Any member of the Kissai caste has the right to challenge the decision(s) made by a promotion board. In the event of a challenge, the Grand Lord will review both arguments and make the final binding decision.

4-008: Kissai Promotions: Kissai promotions are a special case and are handled in the manner that the Grand Lord deems best for the situation.

re: Section Five: Organization

0
Section Five: Organization

5-001: The Organization of the Crimson Order: The Crimson Order has an established Structure and Organization to help assist members in identifying the roles of the various leadership members, and to assist the Crimson Order's goal of crushing the Republic and seeking our vengeance for the wrongs that they have inflicted on the Sith Order.

5-002: Crimson Order Leadership: The leadership of the Crimson Order is described in Section Two. However, the Grand Lord sits on top of the Crimson Order's chain of command and has the final say on all matters. The Grand Lord is advised and assisted by the Kissai Caste members. The Kissai Caste includes the following members: The Field Marshal, The Overlord, The General of the 209th Legion and The Inquisitor.

5-003: Functional Areas (Kissai Ministries): Each Kissai Caste member is responsible for leading and developing certain functional areas. They have sole jurisdiction over their function, however, the division of responsibilities ensures that each Kissai member must work together to ensure the success of the Crimson Order. Each Kissai Caste member answers directly to the Sith Lord, and serve at his or her pleasure.

5-003.a: The Field Marshall: The Field Marshall reports directly to the Grand Lord and is a full member of the Kissai. He is charged with being the advisor to the Grand Lord and interpeting the Rules and Regulations for the guild.

5-003.1: The Overlord: The Overlord is the Second highest ranked member in the CO, oversees the Operations Team and Intelligence Team and speaks for the Grand Lord in his absense. He/she will be responsible for planning campaigns, coordinating tactics with allies, gathering and analyzing gathered intel, and assisting the General with running the military and is also the Crimson Order's diplomat and will oversee developing relationships with other Sith organizations..

5-003.2: The Inquisitor: The Inquisitor is the third highest ranked member in the CO, and oversees the Operations Team and Intelligence Team and oversees the Personnel Team and the Recruiting/Training Team. He/she will be responsible for the full gambit of member affairs and will coordinate such things as LOAs, unit assignments, promotions, awards, etc. He/she will be responsible for planning campaigns, coordinating tactics with allies, gathering and analyzing gathered intel, and assisting the General with running the military.

5-003.21: The Operations Team is responsible for strategic planning and coordinating our PvP and PvE raiding/operations. They also assist in planning campaigns and coordinating with our allies in fighting the Republic.

5-003.22: The Intelligence Team is responsible for gathering and analyzing intelligence information. They are also the Crimson Order's main specialized scout and mapping team. Intel will work with the Ops team to ensure that all available information has been provided for consideration in planning.

5-003.23: The Personnel and Internal Affairs Team is responsible for overseeing and handling all personnel and administrative functions, including coordinating promotions, awards, assisting members, etc. They also assist in planning non-combat events and meetings. Overseeing disciplinary actions is also one of their responsibilities (mainly to provide assistance to the Kissai or Company Commanders when a rule has been broken).

5-003.24: The Recruiting and Training Team are responsible for finding new talent, coordinating their on-boarding process into the Crimson Order, and handling their transition into full membership. They are also responsible for running any training programs and finding or developing guides for members (such as pvp guides, class guides, etc).

5-003.3: The Arkon: The Arkon is the fifth highest ranking member, and the last of the Kissai caste. The Magistrate oversees the Communications/Information Team, the Web Design Team and the Engineering Caste (if applicable).

5-003.31: The Web Design Team handles the nuts and bolts of our existence outside of the game, primarily our website, new media content, and graphics.

5-003.32: The Communications and Information Team is our propaganda, knowledge dominance, and content creators. They handle the content of communications, propaganda, advertisements, new media, etc. Will coordinate extensively with web and gfx team.

5-003.33: The Engineering Team will consist of our crafters, or individuals who will coordinate pooling of resources (armor, items, etc). If crafting is a class, then this team will be organized similarly to the Crimson Order Military.

5-003.4: Members of a "Functional Team" described above would be an additional duty as they will be assigned to a platoon or engineering unit. The staff members wouldn't be in a completely separate post, they'd report to a Platoon leader for combat, and to the Kissai for their functional duty role.

5-004: The Crimson Order Military: Our military comprises our main focus and organization and exists as the 209th Legion of His Majesty's Finest. It consists of all combatant characters and is dedicated to crushing the Republic. The Military is divided into units called Companies, which are further divided into units called Platoons.

5-004.1: The Company: This is the largest unit in the Crimson Order. It will consist of 2-3 platoons, and will hold approximately 20-80 members. This unit is led by a Commanding Officer (CO) (Ranked O-6 or O-5), who is in turn assisted by an Executive Officer (XO) (Ranked O-4 or O-3). If needed, a senior enlisted NCO (N-3 to N-5) can be appointed to assist in running the Company.

5-004.2: These units can either be specialized units or generic units. (ie, specialized would be a Spec-Ops unit, RP unit, generic would be no specific role beyond ground combat unit)
These units are led by a Platoon Leader (PL) (O-2 or O-1) who is assisted by an Assistant Platoon Leader (APL) (N-3 or above). There will also be a pool of 1-2 Section Leaders (SLs) (N-1 or N-2) who will lead small detachments of members (groups of two or more) during combat. These units will consist of about 10-30 members. During combat, the available members of a Platoon would be separated into smaller groups (based on in-game grouping limits). The PL, APL, and SLs would each lead a group of members.

5-004.21: Platoon Leadership Sliding Scale: To help determine how many leaders are needed in a platoon, the following table should be used:
The platoon has 1-8 members: 1 Platoon Leader
The platoon has 9-16 members: 1 Platoon Leader, 1 Platoon Assistant Leader
The platoon has 17-24 members: 1 Platoon Leader, 1 Platoon Assistant Leader, 1 Section Leader
The platoon has 25-32 members: 1 Platoon Leader, 1 Platoon Assistant Leader, 2 Section Leaders
The platoon has 32+ members: The platoon will be split, ideally the Platoon XO would become the leader of the new platoon, the 2 sections leaders would also get promoted to Platoon XOs.

5-005: Ranks: Official names for Ranks will be determined at a later time by the Sith Lord and his Kissai Council. These are guidelines and structural designations for ranks that shouldn't need to change and relate to other areas of the Crimson Order's structure and organization.

5-005.1: Officer Ranks:
O-6: Senior Company Commanding Officer
O-5: Company Commanding Officer
O-4: Senior Company Executive Officer
O-3: Company Executive Officer
O-2: Senior Platoon Leader
O-1: Platoon Leader

5-005.2: Non-Commissioned Officer Ranks:
N-5: Senior enlisted leader
N-4: Senior Assistant Platoon Leader
N-3: Assistant Platoon Leader
N-2: Senior Section/Team Leader
N-1: Section/Team Leader

5-005.3: Enlisted Ranks
E-5: The senior enlisted rank that has not yet been elevated to leadership. This individual may be trusted with Section or Team Leader responsibilities on a limited basis.
E-4: A senior member
E-3: An seasoned member
E-2: An experienced member
E-1: The lowest rank of full members
E-0: Recruit who hasn't achieved full membership

5-006: Activity Levels: The level of activity a member is willing to commit to the Crimson Order. These levels are voluntary.

5-006.1: Activity Levels and Platoons: Platoons will be grouped by either the level of activity of the players (ie an entire platoon of high activity members and an entire platoon of "Casual" or low activity members) or by an appropriate mix of activity levels (ie, one platoon will have 12 high activity and 8 low activity members, or similar mix).

5-006.2: Activity Defined: The level of activity is the amount of time/effort a member is willing to volunteer for guild activities. It is not meant to identify slackers, but more to fit in with peoples play styles.

5-006.3: High Level of Activity: This group would be willing to dedicate a significant amount of time, as needed, to guild events/activities. This group would most likely also follow a somewhat more stricter and regimented military code. It would probably feel more like a military unit than the other platoons. PvPers and our military RPers would likely fit in well here.

5-006.4: Low Level of Activity: This group would be expected to participate in maybe one guild event/activity a week. Its designed for the members who like to do their own thing most of the time, or for the part-time/weekend warrior. It will likely function as a freer, looser group.

5-006.5: At the discretion of the Sith Lord and the General, other levels between these two extremes may be introduced to better meet the needs of the members of the Crimson Order.

5-006.6: Definition of guild events/activities: Would be any kind of military operation from raids, structured/organized pvp outings, territorial operations (if applicable), patrols, etc.

5-006.7: Threat Levels: The following threat levels will be used to indicate the severity and intensity of current combat operations. The Threat Levels may only be altered by the Sith Lord, The General, The Inquisitor, or the Company Command Officer (CO or XO) in command at the time.
Threat Levels:
Red - All combat forces would be expected to participate in combat operations. This threat level is to be used when there is a significant risk to either the organization's image/interests/territory. Ie, our home town/bases are being attacked, every member who could fight and is online would be expected to turn out and join the attack.
Orange - Moderate level of activity combat forces are expected to participate in combat operations. This threat level is to be used when there is a risk to either the organization's image/interests/territory or a significant risk to our allies.
Yellow - High level of activity combat forces are expected to participate in combat operations. This threat level is to be used when there is a risk to our allies or to our faction. Ie, the Republic forces are known to be engaging in a battle off-world and we have an interest in ensuring victory.
Green - Normal operations. No expectations of participation. Republic forces could be running around out there, but there is no need to call up our forces. If members want to team up and engage the enemy on a voluntary basis, it is acceptable. This would most likely be our status for 95% of the time.

re: Section Six: Discipline

Section Six: Discipline

6-001: Discipline in the Crimson Order: Discipline policy is formally established in the Crimson Order to provide pre-defined standards and procedures to deal with violations of the rules of the Crimson Order. The aim is to ensure equal treatment of our members, to maintain openness, and set expectations for what can happen.

6-002: Reporting of Offenses. All members should immediately report any offenses to their commanding officer. Should a member fail to report or assist in covering up such offenses, they are subject to the same penalties as the member who committed the offense.

6-003: Minor and Major Offenses. Major offenses include cheating, hacking, exploiting, harassment, bullying, unacceptable behavior, criminal activity, treason, ie, most of the rules defined in Section One. Minor offenses include anything else, including behavior unbecoming a Sith.

6-004: Non-Judicial Punishment (NJP): The Company level Commanding Officer may implement Non-Judicial Punishments for members under his/her authority that commit minor offenses.

6-004.1: Recommendation for Action: Whenever a minor offense has occurred, a Recommendation for Action can be submitted by any leader, enlisted or higher, to the Company level Command for consideration. The RoA should include the details around the incident and any witnesses of the incident. The Commanding Officer responsible for the member who committed the offense will review the RoA. If the Commanding Officer witnessed the incident firsthand, then no RoA is required.

6-004.2: Appropriateness of punishment. As in all situations, the punishment should resemble the severity of the offense. Commanding Officers have a large amount of leeway in determining appropriate punishments. The Commanding Officer should rely upon the types of punishments listed within the Rules and Regulations, and upon the precedent set by other Company level NJP decisions.

6-004.3: Unique Sentencing. Should a Commanding Officer decide that a punishment that is not listed for use in the Rules and Regulations is appropriate for the offense, they should seek the approval of a member of the Kissai Caste.

6-004.4: Member Records. NJPs shall be recorded in a member's official record.

6-005: Tribunal of the Crimson Order. In the case that a major offense has occurred, then the Tribunal of the Crimson Order shall be convened to hear the indictment, the defense of the accused, and then determine guilt and appropriate sentencing.

6-005.1: Indictment. When a member commits a major offense, the offense shall be made known to the Company level Command. The Company level Command will then gather all applicable evidence and present it to the Inquisitor. The Inquisitor shall review the evidence and determine if there is a basis for an indictment against the accused. If there is a basis for the indictment, the Sith Lord shall be made aware and the Tribunal shall be convened.

6-005.2: The members of the Tribunal of the Crimson Order. The Tribunal shall consist of one member of the Kissai caste, either the General, the Chaplain, or the Magistrate. The Sith Lord and Inquisitor shall not be a member of the the Tribunal. The Tribunal shall also consist of one officer of the Crimson Order, and one member of similar rank to the accused.

6-005.3: Defense of the accused. The accused shall be afforded an appropriate defense. The accused may select their own advocate, or may request that an advocate be appointed. The advocate of the defense shall be provided with the evidence against the accused prior to the Tribunal convening.

6-005.4: Presentation of the Indictment. Once the Tribunal is convened, the Indictment shall be presented to the Tribunal by the Inquisitor and the Company Command. Any evidence against the accused shall also be presented before the Tribunal. Evidence may include written statements, chat logs, screen shots, live testimony, or other appropriate evidence. The Inquisitor may present a final argument to the Tribunal as a summation of the evidence.

6-005.5: Presentation of the Defense. Once all of the evidence against the accused is presented, the defense may then challenge any of the evidence that was presented. The defense may present evidence in their favor as well. The Defense may also make a final argument in favor of the accused.

6-005.6: Additional rounds of debate. The Tribunal, if it deems necessary, may allow the Inquisitor to respond to the Defense, and also allow the defense a final chance to respond as well.

6-005.7: Deliberation. Once the Tribunal is satisfied that all evidence has been presented, they will then meet together in private to discuss the evidence and come to a determination of guilt, innocence, or if it decides that neither guilt nor innocence cannot be satisfactorily determined, a decision of suspicion. Should the accused be found innocent, then they are free to continue in the Crimson Order and the Tribunal should not be considered in any promotion consideration, or in any future Tribunal should they be accused of violating the rules in the future. However, a decision of suspicion can be used against the accused in future promotions or future Tribunals.

6-005.8: Sentencing. Should the Tribunal find the accused guilty of the offense, they will then decide upon an appropriate punishment against the accused. Both the Inquisitor and Defense may present a final statement to the Tribunal for consideration in the sentencing. The Tribunal is authorized to use any method appropriate to punish the accused, up to and including expulsion.

6-005.9: Appeal. The accused has the right to request an appeal to the Sith Lord. Once an appeal is requested, the Sith Lord will decide whether or not to hear the appeal. If the Sith Lord deigns to hear the appeal, the evidence presented in the Tribunal shall be reviewed, and the Defense will be allowed to make a statement as to why they believe an appeal was justified. The Sith Lord will then make a decision on the appeal and the Sith Lord's decision is final. Also, should the Sith Lord find in favor of the decision made by the Tribunal, the Sith Lord may alter punishment in any way he or she sees fit.

6-006: Available Methods of Punishment. The following is a list of authorized methods of punishment

-Fine. A fine can be levied of any amount.
-Probation. A member can be placed on probation for a specific period of time. Probation is different from suspended sentence in that if the member does not behave in a satisfactory manner, then a punishment may be levied on them at that time.
-Supervision. A member shall report regularly to a ranking officer who will observe their behavior.
-Exclusion from planned guild events for a designated amount of time.
-Exclusion from guild benefits for a designated amount of time.
-Letter of Reprimand. An official letter of reprimand is placed in the members official record.
-Promotion Freeze. The member is disqualified from any form of promotion for X amount of time.
-Demotion. Demotion can be one rank to multiple ranks down to E-1.
-Expulsion from the Crimson Order. Expulsion also carries a one year bar from future membership in the Crimson Order
-Banishment from the Crimson Order. Banishment is similar to expulsion, except that it carries a lifetime bar from membership in the Crimson Order, and any off-shoots or branches that are developed. It also means that the individual is barred from any interaction with the Crimson Order, and a notice of the banishment shall be provided to our allies. Essentially, the banished member will be blacklisted in the Sith Empire.

Any of the above may be suspended (with the exception of Banishment) for a designated amount of time. Should the member violate any rule, the sentence that was suspended will be carried out as well as any punishment resulting from the new offense.

The Sith Lord alone may use summary execution at his or her whim.

6-007: Authority of the Sith Lord and Kissai. The authority of the Sith Lord is final and binding. The Sith Lord and members of the Kissai may, should he or she feel that justice is not being carried out, intervene in any NJPs. The Sith Lord can also cancel a Tribunal at any time should he or she feel the Indictment is lacking or if the evidence presented does not meet his standards of justice. The Sith Lord's authority is also retroactive, and may terminate punishments or alter the terms of punishments should he or she feels such action is appropriate.
